Thoughts To Ponder #90

Eric Butterworth was among the leading spokespersons in modern times on "practical mysticism." Eric was considered a legend and spiritual icon in the Unity movement. The author of 16 best-selling books on metaphysical spirituality, a gifted theologian, philosopher, and lecturer, and for over 50 years a teacher of "practical Christianity," helping thou1C80sands of people to help themselves to a more abundant life by the study and application of Truth. He possessed a unique ability to render the most complex metaphysical teachings in simple sound bytes of awareness. He mastered the art of the brief "essayette," of which he has written thousands and is often described as "The twentieth century Emerson."

Don't go through life, grow through life.

Evil, and evil spirits, devils and devil possession, are the outgrowth of man's inadequate consciousness of God. We must avoid thinking of evil as a thing in itself-a force that works against man or, against God, if you will.

Fundamentalists believe Jesus was God becoming man. I believe that Jesus was man becoming God.

God can only do for you what He can do through you.

I am not what I think. I am thinking what I think.

Most people show up for work being physically accoutered but mentally disheveled.

Nothing stops the man who desires to achieve. Every obstacle is simply a course to develop his achievement muscle. It's a strengthening of his powers of accomplishment.

One of the best things to do sometimes is simply to be.

Our job is not to set things right but to see them right.

Life or Stress

Any event, good or bad, causes a stress response if we are unprepared for the situation at hand. Our stress responses exist to ensure safety in our world, for our dependents and ourselves; its function is to respond to danger, not Life itself.

What is Life? Life, in a yogic context, is summed up as those things in day to day existence that bring us peace, joy, contentment and open, loving awareness. It is our basic nature to be peaceful, loving and open not mistrustful, closed and afraid.

What is Stress? Well, virtually everything else - mostly non-life threatening and largely self-inflicted by placing monumental importance on incidental things. Stress is summed up in the things that cause us to act against our basic human nature.

Lets take a moment and look at our range of day-to-day stress: we have job stress, family/relationship stress, health stress, money stressand an overpowering amount of media that encourages stress, keeping us on the lookout for the quick fix, hungry for possessions and terrified about the state of the world today. We drink stress like coffee, consuming several cups of the stuff per day. As such we are habituated to stress, so accustomed to being in a heightened state that our natural stress responses become dulled by overuse. Our natural state of calm awareness is affected too, dulled from lack of use.

The truth is that most of our stress comes from perceived threats to our ego and identity - not our lives. Unfortunately, there are places in the world where day-to-day living is synonymous with real stress, but for most of us, it is not.

How does this relate to yoga practice? Living in a heightened state of alert, we tend to create stress for ourselves, in order to maintain the status quo. We bring stress to our yoga practice in the form of perceived ego threats: performance anxiety, comparison to others and personal criticism. We all know what happens when we experience stress, breathing becomes shallow and ragged and the mind becomes confused. So the solution is simple - come home to the breath; regain focus on your practice, your life, or the situation at hand. This transaction applies universally, to any situation and is the most efficient, effective way to combat stress and anxiety simply breathe.

So now Ive identified a concern, is this something to stress about? No, but as part of being mindful and practicing Ahimsa (non-violence), it benefits us all, instructors and students alike, to be aware of how stress plays out in life, in the body and in our fundamental regulating mechanism, the breath. A dozen deep breaths will remind you that Everything is already Ok.

Reality-Building 201 - What 3 Actions Can You Take Now to Be Successful?

Have you ever seen someone who constantly struggles? Not just financially, but emotionally, and sometimes physically. Nothing ever goes right in their life. Just ask them; they'll tell you.

If you could look inside this person's head, you'd probably see a mess of self-doubt and vague wishes. They might not even realize that this is the life they created, but if you could go back 6 to 12 months in the past and look at their thoughts, you would see that's exactly what they've done.

As a network marketer, there are many actions you must take to create the reality you choose. Most of these are not easy, but if you can make them into habits, your success as a network marketer is almost guaranteed.

One such action is thinking for yourself. Thinking for yourself means asking questions. Doing things the way you always did means you'll get the same results you've always gotten. Asking questions can signify a departure from old ways that no longer serve their purpose.

Without questioning, you become a robot. You do things just because others tell you to do them. You endure because others say you should. You don't ask yourself, "Is the pain worth the prize?" You never find out if there's a better way to accomplish your goals.

Thinking for yourself also means to always place experience over authority. Nobody, regardless of what they say, can claim to be the ultimate network marketing authority. This is not to say you shouldn't listen to your upline. If you hand out 1,000 flyers, however, and get one call back, don't you think you could spend that time more productively?

When you think for yourself, you must understand people. Your upline might be from a generation where it was OK to approach people in a parking lot to present your business. Maybe they were even successful doing it that way. They're not trying to mislead you, just to teach you the business the way they learned.

Thinking for yourself is not, by any means, the easiest way to do things, but it is always the best. Anyone can follow the crowd and obtain mediocre results. Leaders constantly question their actions, asking themselves if there might be a better way to do things.

We can choose our own thoughts. Regardless of what happens to us on the outside, we control what goes on in our minds. We can choose to be a drone and follow what everyone else is doing, or we can use our minds to break away from the pack and achieve our goals.

As network marketers, we must keep in mind that we are where we are today because of our thoughts. If you find yourself lacking today, go back and examine what your thoughts were yesterday, last month, 6 months ago. Your reality always corresponds with your thoughts.

Because of this, it's vitally important to think constructively. Successful network marketers don't waste time or energy focusing on what might go wrong. They seldom mull over unpleasant encounters, or hold grudges. They constantly ask themselves, "How can I make things better than they are right now?"

If you really want to create you own reality, it's extremely important to know what that reality consists of. What does success mean to you? How will you know when you're there? To know your outcome is one of the most important aspects of creating the life you choose.

This needs to be more than just a vague dream. Just wishing for a big house or a bunch of free time is not enough. A big house to you might not be a big house to Michael Jackson, and people in prison have lots of free time.

This is where goals come into play. Notice I didn't say wishes. Goals imply something needs to be done to achieve an end. Effective goals are specific, never open-ended. You need to have a vivid picture in your mind of where you are going. Without that, how can you get there, and how would you know if you did?

You accomplish goals by working backwards. Say you want $500,000.00 a year in residual income. Breaking that down, ask yourself how much you would need to make in 1 year. What would you need to be doing during that year to achieve that? What would you need to do for the next 6 months? 1 month?

What would you need to do today, right now, to achieve that goal? If you can remember to keep the end in sight, your smaller goals will be easier to accomplish. Never forget why you're prospecting.

The thoughts you think lead you to the actions you take. The actions you take regularly become habits. If you can develop enough constructive habits, no force in the world can stop you from achieving your dreams.

Why Intelligence Increasing Techniques Work

The 21st century has seen the advent of many so-called "intelligence increasing" techniques. These techniques have been purported to lead to intelligence gains of as little as 5-10 points, but all the way up to 30-40 IQ points gains for major techniques.

The most popular techniques in use today are image streaming, wave streaming, brain harmonics and pseudo telekinesis, though there are many others which are just as effective and can suit your lifestyle. Each technique has its distinct advantages, where some lead to increases in concentration and focus, others are more favorable towards intuition, creativity and inspiration generation.

The reason why these techniques work are several fold. First, the intelligence increase arises from the subconscious mind which lies within us. The genius of today is merely a result of increased connections to this subconscious foundation to let the genius come to us. The subconscious itself is the area of our minds which is always at work to give us what we plant into it. It also contains the solutions to any problem that we have, so is excellent for problem solving and creativity increase.

The second reason why intelligence techniques work, is because it natural for us to be the best that we can be, because we already have the best things within us in the unconscious. Therefore it is impossible for us not to achieve the best, when we allow it to flow through to us. We can therefore increase our intelligence into the stratosphere, and become a Universal Genius who achieves all their dreams with flying colors.

So in essence, the secret to genius lies on the fact that we have a subconscious and unconscious mind within us. We merely need to link with these and allow their secrets to pass through to us and fulfill our dreams on our behalf.

The author has increased his IQ to over 180, using the techniques he has created and perfected throughout his life. Visit http://www.geniusintelligence.com for more information on how to increase your intelligence and achieve the genius of your dreams.

Removing Emotional Blocks To Success

The single biggest impediment to any individual's ability to achieve success in any area of their life is the presence of emotional blocks that prevent them from actualizing their dreams.

Emotional blocks can take many forms. Some of them are:

1. The Fear of Change.

2. The Fear of Failure.

3. The Fear of Disappointment.

4. The Fear of Making Mistakes.

5. The Fear of Taking Responsibility.

6. The Emotional Need For Certainty.

7. Self Doubt.

8. Low Self Confidence.

9. Low Self Esteem.

10. Low Self Worth.

11. The Fear of Success.

There are many more that I'm sure you have either experienced or can name.

All emotional blocks arise as a result of one's early life history accumulated and stored as memories in the mind/body. Such memories act to limit and constrain one's "playing field of life".

In other words the limitations that any individual experiences are not due to external constraints as is commonly thought rather they are instead due to this invisible yet ever present "net" of conditioned internal mental and emotional blocks that were acquired early in life.

Many are acquired so early that often the individual has no conscious recollection of the memories associated with them. Instead they become integrated into what the individual considers their personality only to find out years later, if at all, how their life has followed a definite but restricted course.

Those who feel the constraints and wish to move beyond them often turn to coaches or psychologists who attempt to help them move past such limitations.

Unfortunately the coaching and/or therapies offered have one significant limitation in themselves. What is that you ask?

Well what most coaching or therapy misses out is the fact that after all of the work is done the offending memory remains stored within the client and has the potential to rear its head again whenever the client tries to push past the limitations imposed by it.

In order to remedy this problem it becomes imperative to completely "release" the memory from the mind and body at all levels.

Releasing it means that the individual will then experience the event as if it never happened to them!

Now for some this may sound somewhat radical. After all why would anyone wish to release what they consider a part of themselves, something they identify themselves with?

Well that is exactly my point. When you identify yourself with say your so-called personality, which is the result of your life history, you are inherently bound by it. Therein lays the limitation!

In order to free yourself from such limitations you have to step out of your limiting personality and transform yourself into a more capable individual. This might be analogous to taking on a new yet more empowered identity. In order to do so however one needs to "break out" of the limitations of the old personality altogether.

In other words it is not sufficient to pretend that you are someone else or to learn new skills. The personality itself must be cracked and shed like a snake's skin in order to allow a new way of being to come into being.

The only way to do this is to release your identification with your so called past and therefore release it from within yourself.

A new process called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) one of the most powerful personal growth tools known on this planet was devised for this exact purpose. I have written extensively about here in this ezine.

Give Yourself Permission to be Successful

Do you lack self-belief? Does it stop you from achieving what you want to have and do and your want in life? Well you are not alone! But how can you start to break the chains and really live again?

Enter self-belief into Google and it seems inevitable that the major search results will involve someones story of how they changed their life from one of under-achieving and procrastination due to a lack of self-belief. Big deal I say! Who cares!? You only care about you. You may have tried to break the chains of having low self-esteem which also pretty much inevitably goes hand in hand with a lack of self-belief.

Having a lack of self-belief and of self-esteem is simply crippling to th562e personal growth, self actualisation and self-fulfilment of anyone. We humans experience change all the time in life, its situations, challenges and constant changes within ourselves too. We are literally living in a different world from one day to the next in a body and mind and emotional and psychic state that is constantly changing. Often its difficult to keep up!

With the rush of modern living, we lose touch with ourselves to the degree that we do not have a clue who we really are. We end up attaching so many externally based labels to ourselves of what we are, what we do, our definition of ourselves, and most of all, our definition of what we can and cant do!

Most of us know about those childhood experiences that have so shaped the way we are today. We can do our own psychoanalysis thanks very much. We know ourselves better than anyone, right? We may count ourselves lucky or unlucky depending on how our childhood experiences shaped us and our present life. But we probably do not know ourselves at all!

So how much of how we see ourselves is from the past based on our perceptions of what happened to us, how it affected us and how we feel about it all? But our perceptions are fallible and our ability to process scenes, events, emotions can be changeable, to say the least. Even the way we map faces in our brains can be decei5A8ved by our perception of reality. Even green plants are not green but thats what our brain tells us! (Thats the colour wavelength reflected off the plant but is not the plant colour itself!)

The brain is limited by the way it works. Not only this, but everyone is wired-up differently so to speak. Ask a policeman what opinion he has of the publics ability to describe details of an incident. It will not be that high probably with vast discrepancies between different peoples accounts. There are still areas of our brains and aspects of our minds about which we know as little about as the deep unexplored oceans and the outer reaches of space, and these are constantly throwing scientific dogma into turmoil.

We usually do not even remember an event 24 hours ago, or 2 hours ago, or even a minute ago. So how can we really trust and believe our self-belief about ourselves, which may be based on memories from times before our brains have even been fully formed? Thats just plain crazy!

Our reference points are simply not accurate. If we add all our fears into the equation, then realise that most of our fears come from the fear of something happening but probably never has and never will. Not only this, but if we were growing and stretching as human beings according to our natural ability to do so, dealing with these fears if they did happen would be so much less of a trauma 5B4as our capability to deal with them would be so much greater!

I meet so many people every day and this relates to the majority of people I meet, who I would term as emotionally and psychologically closed down often to great degrees, even though operating as average people you would meet on the street. They may have jobs and families and busy lives, but they are in effect sleep walking through life. Mostly these people know in intricate detail what they do and what they have, but how many of them truly know who they are, what they truly want in life, and the honest reasons why? Virtually none of them!

Most people are living in the past every day of their lives and therefore are not living in reality moment by moment. Having created a false world view of reality based on opinions, false impressions, misinterpretations, lies they have been told or incorrect information they have been fed. It is like we all live in a dream of our own making, good or bad. Our minds do not represent a true map of our external reality at all and can be easily fooled.

That is why it such a shame that so many of us live our lives according to our false limiting beliefs we have created. We are all growing, but unless we realise it and explore it regular, how can we exploit these changes and assimilate them into our new belief systems and act out a new internal reality accordingly?

Sure, emotional scars can really ru5B4n so deep they are not 'cured' by methods we presently know. But many can be healed by numerous means and our own bodies and minds especially are the greatest healers of them all! So you may suffer from a lack of confidence in situations where past feelings of pain, fear or inadequacy raise your heart beat. But each time you watch television or read a book, you may wander how it is you can zone out and ignore completely what is going on around you. Thats the power of your mind. It can work for you to protect you as it should or against you because it is still protecting you in situations that are no longer a genuine threat to you.

These mind traps sabotage your life every moment you are not aware of them happening, where your mind is now working against you.

Now I am no expert on self confidence and how to achieve it, but I can tell you I was rejected at birth and adopted as a one year old by a family in which I did not live and perform up to their expectations. However, I am not living my life, like so many sleep walkers do, trying to achieve in life exactly what my parents expectations of me were.

So many people live their lives trying to get love where it will not come from truly unconditionally. Many people never acknowledge their true selves their whole lives, not allowing themselves the personal integrity to be true to their own dreams which rarely are the same as their parents anyway. Sur5B4e mind traps are like walls that have to be dismantled brick by brick. But it helps to get a big breakthrough once in a while by challenging your own beliefs and taking risks in new situations in life. Once a big false self-belief starts crumbling it can effect many others like dominoes falling.

I think most people live their lives rather like you might try to bend a spoon like the infamous Uri Geller. The vast majority of people will focus all their energy on the spoon, trying to change it with all their might, their egos getting more and more frustrated the longer the spoon stays the same.

But is very interesting to note that many children are able to bend spoons like Uri Geller. We have no scientific explanation for this phenomenon at present. But the funny thing is that children appear to bend spoons with ease. Perhaps the key is not trying to change anything at all, but being in a relaxed and unattached state where we are truly in touch with ourselves. At a place where any negative self-beliefs and conditioning are not present as a barrier to natural processes we have yet to discover scientifically.

As our quantum physicists admit there is far more space between matter than previously thought possible. This sure is shaking their beliefs about the true nature of reality and of all the physical matter in it. If you let go of past set paradigms of thought and realise how shaky they are how many laws o5B4f science have had to be re-written in even the last 50 years, how much of our accepted beliefs of reality will be different in another 100? Im certain we will be shocked beyond belief. Like many big changes to our belief system, there will be shock.

As someone of limited self-belief and of very changeable self-esteem, I can say this. I do get very sensitised by various experiences which feel risky. They may make me feel extremely vulnerable. Some give me a feeling of great strength afterwards. Some leave my nerves jangled. It seems crucial not to over-stretch when exploring and developing yourself on purpose. Taking baby steps is the key.

Ive tried big risks and big steps, and they can leave you on highs that take you out of practical everyday reality and can undermine your confidence very detrimentally if you take risks you are not ready to handle when they do not work out as you had hoped. As Zig Ziglar said Youve got to be before you can have.

Life is full of fears, pain and trauma that is completely illusory. When you meet new people, their impressions of you are not true. Their opinions of you are often based on the tiniest of scraps of information. It is not personal because they do not truly know you. I think it is such a waste and shame that people often just judge people on first appearances. This is completely insane.

How many of you have felt that peer pressure of havi142ng to fit in by buying that outfit, car, house, or even getting that husband, or girlfriend. That is not living. It is living second hand to appease and fulfil the clouded desires of others. Why live your life for other people when your true happiness comes from the love of doing what you need to grow for yourself.5B4 Sure this may mean serving other people in many different ways but you will feel the freedom and feeling of positive energy as you burst through one false inner shell after another.

Helping others is self-growth in action. And positive action is the key. Princess Dianna ways painfully shy and yet she was able to face strangers, massive crowds of admirers and even manipulate the media. Her solution was simple. When with people, focus on them instead of on yourself!

The big lesson for me about my past is that life is not about finding my past or my roots, hoping to find there the thing to ease the pain of my past. I do not think you find yourself in the way many think. I think you make yourself and in doing so you discover and remember your true self along the way. The past is gone and can never happen again quite the same way. The truth is, we give ourselves the permission we need to have the things we need and want, and sometimes we can give those things to ourselves and the most important of them all is unconditional self-love. Whether you believe in love as an eternal spiritual power is irrelevant. We all die inside without it...

Even if you are made to look stupid in front of millions on a television 'reality show', who cares? If you do it for personal growth and it strengthens you and makes you more secure in yourself you will secretly be envied for doing it. Anyone can laugh at someone but could they walk in that519 person's shoes ?

Failure or defeat is subjective, so whatever happens in our lives has the potential to help us grow. Feedback is painful, but it does not have to stop you. As Bruce Lee said: Defeat is not defeat until accepted as defeat in your own mind. (And even a rubber band has to stretch before bouncing back...)

Developing Your Imagination

So now you know how to "Practice the Pretend" (discussed in part one). Knowing how to practice 5B4the pretend is merely one piece of the puzzle to the first step in becoming a successful entrepreneur. Now you need to know what exactly it is that you need to imagine (the pretend part). You need to set some goals!

So what you do is this: Think about everything that you want in life (your goals) and write your want's down. There is a lot to this. Write down your financial goals (how much money you want to make per month, per year, or how much money you want saved in the next five years, etc...). Write down your personal goals (do you want to be married, have two kids, a dog, graduate college, go skydiving, etc...). Next write down your business goals (what kind of business do you want to own? how many businesses do you want? Do you want employees, and if so how many? Do you want investments, properties, or other business assets? Etc...). And, finally write down your personal asset goals (Do you want that yacht, that 70 inch television, a motorcycle, fancy cars, or a huge house on the lake, etc...).

Try to make these goals practical and within some reason. If your goal is to make One Billion dollars over the next six months; well that probably won't happen (unless you win the Lotto six times in a row, even then it is a stretch. Not recommended by the way). But now if your goal is to make One Million dollars over the next year and a half; Well that is doable. That is a more reasonable goal.

Now notice I say reasonable 5B4goal, and not realistic. The reason why I do not use the words "realistic goal" is because there is no such thing. What is realistic to you may not be realistic to me. If your idea of realistic is only making One Hundred Thousand dollars over the next year and a half; I am going to tell you to shoot higher. Find a new reality. If your goal is to make One Billion dollars over the next six months, I will tell you to aim high but maybe set the bar a tad bit lower. Like on Earth.

Now you have your goals written down, right! Good! What now? Well take your list of goals and make a copy. Now you have two lists. Now you click on my signature profile below and take a look at the article, "Think Success (part 3)" for the last installment of this series: Think Success!

Simple Success System For Daily Results

With so much to do and so little time, how in the word can I manage my time? This is probably the most paradoxical question for many of us. We all have the same 24 hours a day and the same 365 days of the year. Yet, some get so much more done in that time. How do they do it? What is their secret? Well, I know what my "secret" has been, and it has allowed me to have as much time as I want to spend with my lovely wife and my beautiful two year old son. I believe everyone should have this Simple Success System Secret, so I trust you will read on and benefit from using it yourself.

I am breaking it down into very specific questions to guide you through the process. However, before I share those questions I must state a few key components in order for this "secret" to give you maximum results.

First, you MUST write down your responses to the questions I share with you. Having the answers in your mind will NOT do it. It has been proven time and time again that just having the thoughts without writing them down are nowhere nearly as effective as putting them down on paper. There is something almost magical about putting things down on paper, it seems to be the beginning of manifesting something into reality. Think about it, everything that has every come into existence, has in some way or another made it on print, prior to it taking form. Yes, thoughts come first, but it is when those thoughts are put on paper that they really begin to take form. So, WRITE it down.

Second, this Simple Success System is much more effective when done either last thing before going to bed, or the very first thing upon arising. I trust there is some psychological scientific explanation for this. However, the one that made the most sense to me was that it is at these two times that my subconscious is most open and available at these times. Think about it for just a moment, when you go to bed, you give your subconscious mind anywhere between 5-8 hours (or more for us sleepy heads) to sort out what you are wanting to accomplish the next day. That's a pretty long time and to top it off, it is when you are often most relaxed (allowing for an even more effective mindset). If you do it in the morning, there is that morning fog, where your analytical mind hasn't kicked in yet, and your subconscious mind is open, available and rested. And if you've ever watched "The Secret" you understand that this is where you tell your subconscious mind, "This is what I want my day to look like..." and your subconscious mind will begin to do everything it can to make it so. So, how about telling it exactly what you want your day; to be like. Think of yourself as a script writer, and you are writing a script for your perfect day.

Third, use the following 5CESimple Success System handout along with the prompts below to set yourself up for daily success. Here are your simple instructions:

  • Press here to open up and print your Simple Success System handout.
  • Consider the following questions as you complete your handout:

    Professionally:

    - What are the top 5 highest priority professional action items.

    - What are the top 5 medium priority professional action items.

    - What are the top 5 LOW priority professional action items

    - My most important calls to make today are...

    - My most important emails to address today are...

    Personally

    - What are the top 5 things I am doing to take care of myself today.

    - What are my top personal relationship action items I am willing to nurture today?

    - What am I willing to do today to "Pay it forward" (or be of service)?

    - What am I grateful for today?

  • Once you've completed your list keep it somewhere you can see it consistently throughout the day.
The process itself should take no longer than 10 minutes. However, the "secret" to you getting the results you want is based on the following premises. First, write it down. Second, do this process in the morning upon awakening or just before going to bed. Third, put it somewhere you can see it. Finally, and most 59Cimportantly, do the highest top priority things FIRST before moving onto anything else. Do this and results are guaranteed.

I trust this is of service to you and you will decide to make the use of these tools a habit. Enjoy creating your next level of success. For additional resources on health, wealth, and growth articles simply visit us at www.bodymindsuccess.com.

How To Help People Think Better - The Nitty Gritty of Listening

You know how to listen. You do it every day. In fact, you spend a good portion of the time you're interacting with others in listening. You're good at it.

And, we find that leaders who are remarkable listeners are always looking to expand their listening skills. So let's really make a study of listening today; let's take a look at the nitty gritty.

Helping people to think more deeply is the highest purpose, the best reason, for a leader to listen more deeply. When people think more deeply, when they make their own connections, they get a jolt of energy, and they're inspired to action. David Rock in his book Quiet Leadership (Appeared, 2006) describes the neuroscience of the process of coming to one's own insight. Then he says,

When people make deep, new connections in their own mind, there is a tangible release of energy, a discernable "aha" moment that fills us with a desire to take action. On a physical level, this aha moment releases chemicals in the body to prime it for movement. The energy created by insight is an important energy source to be harnessed. In the workplace there are many drains on our energy, including restrictions, policies, politics, long hours, and hundreds of emails every day. We should be harnessing every possible energy source that might inspire better performance. Letting people come up with their own ideas is a deep well of motivation to tap. (pp.39-40)

We have found that people get excited, become more conscious, and solve their own problems when their leaders and colleagues employ the skill of listening for. When you are listening for my potential, my strengths, or my skills mastery, I can sense that and I respond to it. When you're listening for what's important to me, for my goals, for what I value, for what I believe is possible or not possible, you help me become more conscious of these myself. When you're listening for how I feel about the subject I'm discussing - whether my energy is high or low, whether I'm excited or worried - I know I am truly heard. When you're listening for the real issue, maybe the question behind my question, then you help me to see so much more. When you're listening for what I'm not saying but is clearly present, then you give me permission to bring it out.

So how do you do it, this listening deeply and listening for? Here are some of the nitty gritty techniques:

Say less than you think you need to. Give lots of time for the person to think or to frame what they're saying. Resist the urge to jump in.

Summarize, paraphrase, and mirror back what you're hearing to be sure you understand clearly and to give the person a chance to hear what he or she is thinking.

As you reflect what you're hearing, use their language. It will have more of an impact. As you reflect, use language that indicates "I heard" rather than "You said."

Notice the difference between the person's words, tone of voice, and body language.

Practice setting aside your own judgments of what you're hearing.

And finally, just practice hearing some of what we've already mentioned: potential, goals, values, strengths, mastery, possibility, point of view, feelings, what's underneath.

Now let's look at an example. Your employee, Bob, comes to you and says, "Sandy is alienating everyone around her." For many, the automatic response is to look for a solution. The leader who is listening for starts by asking for more information and listening for what's important to the speaker.

As you listen, you reflect what you're hearing, giving Bob the chance to become more aware of the elements of the situation and what's really going on. You use language that tells Bob what you've heard. You listen for possibility, for Bob's strengths and for Sandy's. You listen for how Bob is thinking about the situation and what he may not be saying about it. And you assume Bob's competence in being able to solve his problem.

As you reflect what Bob is saying, he begins to see possibility, too. Now may be a good time to ask Bob what he'd like to see and how he'd like to move forward. You continue to see him as competent and creative. In this collaborative conversation, Bob feels heard, and he taps into his own resourcefulness. Your deep listening allows Bob to harness his own energy and to solve his own problem, to become a leader in this situation.

We have all experienced the power of being truly heard. It is one of the highest gifts we receive in this life. In the business world, it encourages deeper thinking, energized action, and greater connection to the work at hand. And it invokes the leader in everyone.

Become Who You Were Meant To Be Now

We are what we think, believe, and do. If you can change how you think and what you believe, with God's help, you can change your life - what you do and who you are.

Are you on the path that will lead you to your highest calling - to actualize your greatest potentials and give your best to those you love?

What attitudes, beliefs, negative self-statements, inner or external distractions, and unhealthy habits are holding you back?

Decisions you make today, goals and commitments you establish, can and will change your life. Starting today you can become the person you were created to be.

Negative programming, destructive thought patterns, and damaged emotions can be changed, rewritten, and healed. This process can start now - in this moment - and continue throughout your life.

No matter how old you are, you aren't too old to change. Although we are "creatures of habit" who often get stuck in ruts - mental and behavioral patterns that get stronger every time we repeat them, with sufficient motivation and persistence (and with God's help) we can break free from old habits.

I want to challenge you today to take an honest look at yourself and identify 3 aspects of yourself you wish to improve. Write down how you want to change - be specific (i.e. - cut down to pack a day over the next two weeks and then stop smoking completely by 4 weeks from today). If your goal is to be more productive or to spend more time with your family or to develop a more disciplined prayer life - decide how you will know when you have reached your goal. What will be a sign that you have arrived? And what benefits do you hope to obtain? Make sure your goals are consistent with long term objectives, realistic, and measurable.

Today's decisions will be realized in tomorrow's successes, and a thought or a wish traveling across the synapses of your brain right now could be the impetus that changes your world - perhaps even the whole world.

All things are possible if we believe!

Do you believe? If not, may God help you to believe. Don't fail to see the infinite possibilities God has placed within your grasp. Jesus said: "If you have the faith of a grain of mustard seed you can move mountains." What doubts are holding you back? Do you doubt yourself, your calling, your God? Are you willing to doubt your doubts and begin to believe?

Which of you are willing to make a commitment to change? Listen to the Wind of change within your soul. Ask and you shall receive!

Executive Coaching

Frequently Asked Questions About Executive Coaching: The Interviews

Because of the growth in popularity of executive coaching many leaders are considering whether coaching is right for them. In order to provide a variety of perspectives on the philosophy, process, and benefits of executive coaching, I conducted interviews with three independent executive coaches, one sales coach, and two executives at America Online and Capital One, to lend their perspective on some frequently asked questions about executive coaching.

Dr. Cutts: What is your definition of Executive Coaching?

"Coaching has become a major leadership development investment and a pre-requisite for high performing, high potential executives, managers, and employees in a wide variety of 59Cindustries. Top corporations look to executive coaching as a resource for accelerating leadership development, personal growth and enhancing organizational effectiveness." (Madelyn Clark-Robinson, President and Executive Coach, Executive Development Strategies mclark-robinson@comcast.net)

"A coach is a skilled motivator and one that asks provocative questions." (Le'Angela Ingram, Executive Coach and CEO, The Ingram Consulting Group, Inc. Consultla@aol.com)

"The coach does not provide 'expert' advice but rather provides a mirror for the executive to remain accountable to the executive's goals and objectives." (Don Sloane, Executive Coach and CEO, The Sloane Group, Inc. don@thesloanegroup.com)

"Executive coaching is synonymous with directing. A sales or athletic coach views the team and assesses its strengths and weaknesses. A good mentor allows the student to figure out the problem and brainstorm for ways to fix it." (Loretta Collins, Sales Coach and President, The Sales Doctor, LLC Loretta@thesalesdoctor.biz)

Dr. Cutts: What are some typical reasons why someone might engage an Executive Coach?

Ingram: A few of the reasons that individuals come to me include: career search, career transitioning; personal transitions and sometimes as a sounding board for ideas or difficult situations at work. There are times that I'm simply used as a confidante for clients exploring new thin5A8gs in life.

Sloan: Executives come to me to increase self-awareness, to augment existing capabilities, or for succession planning-"what do I want to do next with my life professionally and or personally".

Clark-Robinson: The companies that I work with are interested in and committed to sustaining success and know how crucial people are to that intention.

Dr. Cutts: What are some of the benefits of working with an Executive Coach?

"I gained a more holistic approach to my business and personal life. I learned to let go more, let other people contribute. He [my coach] helped me understand that I can't do everything on my own." (Marc S., VP, AOL Inc.)

"My executive coach has been a great sounding board to help me frame what I am personally looking for in my job and helping me align my goals with Capital One's goals. This process has then helped me to work on any weaknesses that would prevent me from achieving our common goals due to organizational barriers that play against those weaknesses." (Richard C., Senior VP, Capital One)

Dr. Cutts: What do executives look for when selecting a coach?

"Primarily I looked for someone who had a background in organizational psychology and experience in counseling to develop self awareness and maneuvering through organizational influences." (Richard C.)

"I looked for experience, personality, understanding of business and personal 5A8aspects, preferably African American-having an understanding of the unique needs of a Black Executive." (Marc S.)

"The most important thing to look for in selecting a coach is someone with whom you feel you can easily relate to and create the most powerful partnership." (International Coach Federation, www.coachfederation.org)

Dr. Cutts: What is your philosophy about coaching?

Ingram: My belief in every individuals' inherit excellence is what drives me to work with clients. We are all good at something, and some of us have eyes to see 'giftings' and can call those gifts forward from others to serve the world at great depths.

Sloan: The coaching relationship is not therapy, it is a relationship where the coach advocates for the client by providing clear, honest, and timely feedback while maintaining the dignity of the client at all times. Coaching is forward looking; where is the client now, where to they want to be, what is the path to get from here to there verses how did the client get to where they are now.

Collins: Give a man a fish he eats for a day. TEACH a man to fish.... My mother has always said that you teach your children the one thing you don't want them to do- and that's leave. Coaching is similar. You want to give your clients the techniques to recognize and fix their own problems. However, there is no shame in admitting you need help again. A coach's job is to be a5A8vailable but NOT do their job.

Dr. Cutts: What is your specific process for coaching?

Ingram: I don't offer a cookie cutter process. Each client is different in their need, and style. I have several models that I like to use and often take pieces of different models to meet the client's unique needs. The number of sessions and frequency of sessions vary.

Sloan: The initial meeting is face-to-face when possible but not required. Sessions also take place by phone and each session is typically an hour. A minimum of three months commitment is required.

Collins: I do a discovery session with the client asking what he or she thinks the problem is, and from there go through a step by step process of how a potential sale might go. It's important to see how the client thinks and how and why they think coaching will help. After that, I design a plan of action to help achieve that person's goal.

Between scheduled coaching sessions, the individual may be asked to complete specific actions that support the achievement of one's personally prioritized goals. The coach may provide additional resources in the form of relevant articles, checklists, assessments, or models, to support the individual's thinking and actions. (International Coach Federation)

What type of fees should one expect to pay for executive coaching?

Fees for executive coaching range from approximately $150-$300 p5B4er sessions. Many coaches also offer packages for 3, 6, and 12 months.

What is a typical duration of the coaching relationship? Three months to a year is average.

Dr. Cutts: Would you recommend executive coaching to others, and why?

"Yes if people want to be great at work or in their personal life and want to constantly develop and evolve then having a great coach is the way to go." (Marc S.)

"I would definitely recommend executive coaching to others for many reasons. First, it forces you to take the time to develop an understanding of the organization and get a perspective of the system in which you work. It also helps you to develop a deeper understanding and awareness of what is important to you individually and to the company. It also helps you understand how your personal weaknesses may be inhibiting your ability to achieve your personal or company goals. Finally, it provides a third party sounding board to develop and implement a strategy to achieve those goals." (Richard C.)

How to Build Your Confidence for Selling

In my early days of selling, I was a winger. I guess everyone knows what a winger is, but in case this is a new term for you, wingers describe not just salespeople, but people in general who rely on their ability to think on their feet and their ability to come up with the right words or expressions without any preparation at all.

I was a winger in college and my grades should have taught me that winging it through life was not the most effective path to success.

Then when I became a salesperson, I once again frequently chose to wait until the last minute to prepare for a big presentation.

As with most of us, just one life-changing event can teach us an important lesson that common sense should have taught us much earlier in life. In my case, this life-changing event took place in New York City in front of about 200 of my fellow salespeople.

Heres the scenario: Along with my fellow salespeople around the country, I was invited to attend the kickoff of what was promised to be one of our companys hottest new product lines. The company had chosen the name Ruco for this exciting new siding product. Ruco was made of a form of lightweight expanded concrete, but it looked a lot like wood from a distance. But in addition to looking a lot like wood, an installer could cut it with a saw and drive a nail through it. And to cap off the list of features Ruco possessed, it provided insulation benefitsjust like real wood.

Each salesperson was mailed a demonstration kit in advance of the sales meeting with instructions to practice the demonstration often enough prior to arriving at the sales meeting to show off our presentation skills in front of the entire national sales force. I received the kit and the instructions just like all of the other salespeople, but unlike the others, I didnt practice at all. I figured that if I was lucky enough to avoid having to go first, I was enough of a quick-study to wing it and get by just fine.

My plan didnt work. In fact, my presentation was a disaster. Ive never been so humiliated in my life. It was extremely obvious which salespeople practiced their presentations and which ones were like me -- wingers. One particular salesperson, when demonstrating how easy Ruco was to nail, hit his thumb with the hammer and blood shot all over the Ruco. Another was so nervous that his hands were visibly shaking when he held a lighted blowtorch underneath the Ruco to illustrate its insulation qualities.

In hindsight, this was one of the most important days of my selling life because it was on this day that I made the decision to never again rely on my wits to get me through a product presentation.

Today, before standing before an audience of salespeople, I spend several hours preparing. Even though I may have presented some of the same material before, I always practice. I always prepare. I never again want to experience the feelings I felt that day in New York City.

How about you? How are you at presenting one of your companys key product lines? How long do you practice before standing in front of a prospect to make a key demonstration. Is it obvious to your potential customer that this presentation was not iimportant enough to you to adequately prepare?

As the great sales trainer Jim Rohn says, when you take your business too casually, youre likely to become a casualty. So I encourage you, do your homework. Practice. An important presentation can be as important to your sales success as opening night can be for a Broadway actor. So dont blow it by taking your profession too casually.

Tony Robbins CANI! System Explained

"CANI" stands for Constant And Never-ending Improvement. It's an acronym that Tony developed more than a decade ago and he was influenced by Dr. W. Edwards Deming. Dr. Deming is credited as one of the leaders who brought one of the first quality movements to the Japanese. His basic premise was that the secret to help the Japanese achieve world power and economic success was if every single person and organization commit to constant improvement.

The Japanese have a single word for "constant and never-ending improvement" and it's called "Kaizen." Kaizen is from the Japanese words Kai and Zen where "kai" means change and "zen" means good. Yes folks, change is good.

According to Robbins from his Lessons in Mastery series, he didn't want to embrace the word "Kaizen" because it was a Japanese word and after-all, Dr. Deming was an "American..." therefore it was only proper to create an American word that meant the same as Kaizen. Transformational vocabulary is an important component to the tenets that Robbins teaches, so you can probably understand why Tony wanted to create a brand or a name for the association.

It is very easy to get caught up in your goals and desired end-outcomes...to the point of becoming overwhelmed. CANI offers a solution and a point of reference to focus your attention on. If all you did was improve one tiny aspect of your life every single day, you would achieve mastery in uncommon time.

Benefits of CANI include:

  • Creates a personal and business momentum that will be hard for your competitors to catch up with.
  • Personal satisfaction and fulfillment because it will cause you to grow personally.
  • Leads to innovation. Innovation creates leverage.

Tony Robbins once said, "We only learn our limits by going beyond them." CANI! is a principle designed to encourage you to make small incremental improvements daily...and in doing so, you will be forced to find a way to go beyond your current set of self-imposed limitations.

Which areas of your life do you want to apply the principles of CANI! Today?

Prosperity & Financial
Family Relationships
Friendship Building
Health & Fitness
Spirituality
Recreation & Pleasure/Joy
Education & Career Advancement
Public Service/Volunteering

If you define your success as a "journey" rather than an end-destination, you can take comfort in the fact that personal growth and satisfaction can come from constant and never-ending improvement (CANI!).

How To Find Inner Peace

Why Your Goal Setting Annoys Friends, Family and Faint-Hearts

It's not unusual for people to come back from an inspiring personal development seminar, or after having read a potentially life changing book on goals and ready to take action, only to be faced with indifference and sometimes downright hostility from loved ones. Why is this the case and what can you do if it happens to you?

The relevance of what I have to say here will depend to some extent on the nature of your current relationships with friends and family. Not knowing your situation, I cannot be specific as to the outcome. What I do know is that there will be a reaction once you begin to implement the goals and make changes. And it might not be pretty, at least at first. Especially where a change in comfort is concerned. That is to say, to their psychological as well as possibly physical, comfort! Your friends and family have grown accustomed to the familiar you, warts and all. How dare you upset the applecart by seeking change with all this goal setting nonsense! ;-)

One effective method for handling this is to expect it. Be prepared! In any web of relationships there is an inbuilt survival element of "what's in it for me?" Remember, this is not necessarily a negative or selfish trait to be despised - it's simply a reality of why people are often drawn to each other in the first place. So you should be increasingly aware of the impact your goal setting and changing life direction may have on those close to you. I would go as far to say that you should patiently resolve to see their side of it with as much compassion as you can muster. Now, compassion doesn't mean weakness, or imply deviation from your chosen path. But it does suggest an openness to understand and perhaps, within reason, to compromise.

An example from a friend of mine may help to make the point. When John ( not his real name) first announced he was leaving the corporate world to pursue his goal of building a successful small business, his friends and family were at first surprised, even a little jealous. But then it dawned on his wife that not only would their income drop drastically during the unknown and possibly prolonged startup phase of the business, but that John would be working from home each and every day. For a woman well used to being a homemaker and on her own for most of the nine to nine working hours considered normal in Japan, and within the confined space of a small, by Western standards, Japanese apartment, this became a source of some friction between them.

How would you handle a situation like that? Stick to your guns and tell her that come what may, you're going to be at that desk, in that apartment, every single day even if it takes you 10 years to achieve the goal you set? There are no easy answers here but John would be well advised to holster his pistols, and commence the delicate art of negotiation. From a compassionate viewpoint, you understand -- and not with a "I win, you lose" attitude.

I know of cases where this fear of upsetting others, especially people you care about, caused life-changing goals and dreams to be aborted or stillborn by their creators. What a potential loss to the world! Even if you haven't launched your dream goal or project, you can begin right now in the practice of loving compassion for those around you. One day you may be glad you did.

How To Make Creativity Affirmations Work For You?

Creativity affirmations when done correctly prime the subconscious mind to develop the intuition to give you more creative juices to work with. Creativity affirmations can be done more successfully with these simple rules. Remember, a creativity affirmation is a positive self affirmation about creativity made to send a message to the subconscious mind. With that in mind, here are some simple rules to adhere to make your message be heard by the subconscious mind.

Rule #1
The present tense should be used, never the future tense. You need to let your mind think that what you want has happened already. Dont say your affirmations starting with words like, I will or I would You have to structure your affirmations in the present tense to create and send the message to your subconscious mind that what you want has already happened and it would manifest.

Rule #2
Be repetitive. Creativity affirmations are not magic bullets that will give you a surge in creativity immediately. Thats not how the subconscious mind works. Repetition is necessary to imprint the message to the subconscious mind.

Rule #3
Set a time. I highly suggest that you repeat your creativity affirmations at the start of the day before you begin on your work or other projects. Doing so gives you laser-liked focus to handle your work and draw any possible creativity powers!

Follow these simple rules and you will be on your way to making creativity affirmations work for you.

Coach Pete's Tip - Does Life Coaching Work?

You see them everywhere on TV, in magazines, in bookstores, articles, blogs and websites all talking about life/law of success coaching. But does it work? Can someone actually coach someone else to law of success? The answer is a resounding yes! Life coaching has proven itself as a highly effective way to help a person improve their life. Much like a baseball coach can help even a super star like Derek Jetter get over his batting slump a life coach can help you get over a slump in your career or relationship.

Coaching is a proven process that quickly brings results, because both you and your coach are highly motivated and are working together on highly focused goals. You benefit by achieving goals faster, creating balance and enjoying the support of a non-judgmental mentor whose only goal is your law of success!

The coaching relationship starts off with a "Discovery Period". During this discovery phase the life coach and the coachee will decide on areas to be work on and establish goals and action steps to achieve these goals. The life coach may also assign "homework" or coaching exercises to help the coachee "think outside the box" or to look at something from a different perspective. This coaching relationship can last several months or longer depending on the coachee's needs and goals.

The key to creating law of success and happiness is inside you. The job of a life coach is to help you expand your horizons, harness your inner strengths and inspire you to live a life of fulfillment. Empowering you to make changes, try new paths and explore new ideas is a major part of the coaching relationship. Life coaching does work, but it takes a motivated coachee and the right coach.

Industrial Pail Depalletizing And Denesting Solution

Having worked in manufacturing and logistical management for more than a few years, I have had the opportunity to observe many automatic and semi-automatic material handling systems in operation. Some systems approach optimum performance and I would be hard pressed to suggest improvement, while with some other layouts, I am fortunate to have enough experience to be able to recommend process revisions. This article is about just such an application in the form of pail filling lines.

By way of background, I will explain how a bucket or pail filling line works. Empty pails are placed onto an infeed conveyor and are indexed forward to be filled. The product (paint, food, soap or what have you) to be placed in the pail is typically in a viscous or powdered form and is dispensed from above in a pre-measured amount as the pail passes underneath. The pail is then capped and (usually) palletized.

Sounds pretty simple doesnt it? Its not rocket science certainly but there are some nuances that affect the process.

Assuming a company is using a five-gallon pail with the wire handles attached, the pails arrive palletized and nested so that there may be in the vicinity of twelve stacks of buckets strapped down to a pallet and shrink wrapped.

Getting these pails onto a filling line has to date proven to be a manual process of removing them one stack at a time from the pallet to the infeed conveyor area and A. Have a person manually separate them and place them singly on the infeed conveyor.
B. Have a person manually place a stack into the infeed of a horizontal pail denester*.
C. Have a person manually place a stack into the infeed of a vertical pail denester.
*(A denester is a bucket separation apparatus or machine)

One common thread remains however, and that is the individual required to manually depalletize the pails. This directly affects the return on investment for the existing denester and frankly, I find it inconsistent that a filling line should be automated yet still require a dedicated employee for the pail infeed. Deeming it a cost justifiable project, I undertook the effort to design a system whereby this process could be automated in order to save my clients time and money and to complete the cycle of automation seen in the rest of the filling line.

The process of automating the empty pail infeed is such that there are a number of pallets containing the stacks of empty pails placed on an infeed conveyor at which time the encapsulating wrapping and dunnage are removed. The pallets are then indexed forward into the work cell that depalletizes them and places them into an in-line denester (that is much more diminutive and less expensive than the traditional horizontal and vertical models) and are dispensed directly onto the filling line. Once emptied, the pallet is conveyed away and this process repeats itself. The infeed pallet conveyor and empty outgoing pallet accumulation is configured to accommodate enough volume that it need only be tended to once per shift allowing for a forklift operator to utilize approximately ten to fifteen minutes to keep the line operating as opposed to eight hours per shift.

The benefits of this system are obvious in the form of a very substantial increase in profitability, a one to five year return on investment, dramatic labor saving effects and a reduction in the probability of employee injury and workmans compensation claims. Additionally, this equipment is such that it can be fully integrated with an existing denester, should the client already possess one.

Ideas For Your Life

Only If

This composition is about a relationship burning out, and the result of one side caring more than the other. The terrible feeling of helplessness.

Im standing on the crossroads of time
frozen by how you said what you said
you sure know how to make my soul cry
as my higher self begins to watch me fade

oh
eh
woe

Lately, your heavenly eyes become rather blind
like for tonight give me sleep or death
my hearings drowning in echoes do you know why?
is there someone within you who burns to escape

Wanting you
is the only thing Ive ever wanted to do
but only if (only if)
You want me too

Needing you
is the only thing Ive ever needed to do
but only if (only if)
You need me too

I see the storms of fate coming
and your wait to wash me off in its rain
Another cry in despair but you aint turning
What goes around comes around but its still a shame

Loving you
is the only thing Ive ever needed to do
but only if (only if)
You Love me too

Wanting you
is the only thing Ive ever wanted to do
but only if (only if)
You want me too

Needing you
is the only thing Ive ever needed to do
but only if (only if)
You need me too

Loving you
is the only thing Ive ever needed to do

Executive Coaching Training

You might already know that the "Intro. session" (AKA free session) is THE #1 way for you to get clients...

It's true because most, if not all, of your clients will come to you from these sessions. And, if you don't have enough coaching clients part of the reason is because you aren't getting enough people having intro. sessions with you. In fact...

How many clients you have is mostly determined by 3 things:
1. How many free sessions you do each month.
2. How long your clients stick around.
3. How good you are at converting people from the intro. sessions into hiring you for coaching.

If you improve any of these areas, your coaching business will grow! If you improve all 3, you're business will soar!

Here are 5 things you can do to start getting a lot more intro. sessions and a lot more clients.

1) Send out an offer for a free coaching session to your newsletter list. Where most coaches go wrong on this idea is that they put the offer deep into their newsletter where only a few people will see it. Send out a single newsletter/email specifically about the free session you're offering!

2) Grow your newsletter list of subscribers. This is where you'll stay in touch with your potential clients and can make offer of a free session from time to time. Where coaches go wrong here is by not picking a target audience/niche. They end up writing about general "stuff" that can help anyone, but does not capture the hearts and minds of people the way having one specific group will. The result, few people will actually ever read your newsletters on a regular basis.

3) Build a case for why someone should spend their time and energy having a free session with you. This is how most coaches describe their free session offer (poorly): "I offer a free exploratory coaching session. If you would like to see if coaching is right for you, call XXXX or email YYY."

Just because something is "free" doesn't mean people will want it. Like most everything else in life, the "free session" needs to be "sold". Write up some compelling reasons people should have a session with you and the real tangible benefits people will leave the session with.

4) Tell people that you want to work with them. When you come across people that you think would be great to work with, let them know "I'd like to coach you". Most of the time they'll be flattered. Compliment them by telling them why you'd like to work with them. "You have great energy and I'd love to watch you get into full bloom" or "After hearing you speak, your passion got me inspired and I'd like to help you make your vision boardcome true". Most people will be open to having a free session with you to see if it makes sense for them.

5) Go for the "easy yes" before offering the intro. session. Many coaches don't realize how important these intro. sessions are. But, once they do, they start offering these sessions to strangers they meet at networking events. Now, this CAN be effective. But, you'll miss out on connecting with MOST people and building a relationship that could later lead to a free session and hiring you. Instead offer a "Special Report", tele-class, or audio program on a topic that is of extreme interest to the people you're networking with. More people will say "yes, I want that" and you'll be able to stay in touch with them sending your "articles/newsletters" and later offering the free session.

BOTTOM LINE:

Get out there and get intro. session with people and you'll start getting a lot more clients!

A Lusty Library of Art - Female Form Photography - High Fashion Statements

~~*~~

I paint fashion
keep a lusty library for reference
Red on my pallet
intimate glamour photography
is pinned up on my walls.

Soft, fresh, lime green leaves
trees that speak of miracles
I am just as unique.
That's what I say when I feel lonely.

Romantic ways to propose
new dances in the air
new paintings I gather material for.

I keep a lusty library
female form photography
high fashion
women of confidence
women of intrigue
a goddess post on canvas planned.

Modern talking studio
my goals meet the day
speak back to me.
I take photos
intimate glamour photography
I always have.

Tell the others of their salvation
I am still looking for mine.
I kept it in an envelope once
inside a book
it must still be here somewhere?
Just a story to hold on to
when the lights go dim.

I am not really who I seem to be
nor are you I would suspect.
All those romantic ways to propose
tainted with selfish outcomes.
You want to own
or possess?

I groom my fallen tales well
never far from reach.
I take photographs before their recovery.
Mark the date and time.
Pay attention
lest you dine on similar skulls.
they seem to sing in the night
no matter the music is performed too late. I'll blend the colors in later
modulate their meanings
Not to worry
you'll scarcely recognize yourself.

I will forever gather my images
female form photography
wild women hopefully
uninhibited fashion
I will file them
refer to them
and paint lime green leaves
to cover their dreams.

Taking A Leap Of Faith In Yourself

If I told you I had a steal beam 4" by 2" laid down in a parking lot and that I would pay you $50 to walk across it, would you do it?

I'm guessing you would unless you had some unnatural aversion to parking lots, steam beams or men making very strange promises. How about if I lifted up to say, 20 feet, now would you do it? Probably not for $50, but what about $5,000? Surely that would be worth the risk, and anyway it's no more difficult walking across at 20 feet than it is at ground level. So what's the problem, you can either do it or you can't, right? Well not really no, because all of a sudden doubt creeps in when you introduce risk into the equation. Now instead of thinking "That's no problem give me the greenback" you are probably thinking, "I could break my leg I'm not risking that for 50 bucks"

It's exactly the same thing.....but different.

This kind of thinking is what can trap you in your comfort zone and it isn't easy to break out of, but break out of it you must if you want to fulfill your true potential. Many people KNOW they can do things such as run their own business because they have been doing it for somebody else for 20 years, but when it comes to making the leap and running a business of their own it's a different story. It shouldn't be.

Millions of people start their own businesses and 99% of companies started up as a small ventures. Take Michael Dell as an example, he started as a one-man band, Microsoft started with just Bill Gates and Paul Allen and there are hundreds of other examples like those that I am too lazy to research.

Of course, do due diligence when leaving the job that doesn't fulfill to working for yourself but also take a leap of faith. What I mean by faith, is the faith and belief in yourself and what you are capable of achieving based on your achievements, skills and desire to succeed.

Solution-Focused Therapy

Most types of psychotherapy involve exploring feelings, being validated, finding explanations, exploring wishes and dreams, setting goals, and gaining clarity. Every therapist has unique ways of working with clients, based on his or her personality, training, and views of how people change. A solution-focused therapist is likely to do the following:

1.Instead of going over past events and focusing on problems, the therapist helps you envision boardyour future without todays problems.

2.During the course of therapy (often as few as 3 to 6 sessions), the therapist helps you discover solutions.

3.The therapist encourages you to identify and do more of what is already working.

4.The therapist guides you to identify what doesnt work and to focus on doing less of it.

5.The emphasis is on the future, not the past.

6.SFBT therapists believe that the client is the best expert about what it takes to change his or her life.

7.The therapists role is to help you identify solutions that will remove the barriers to having the life you want. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a process that helps people change by constructing solutions rather than dwelling on problems. This type of therapy tends to be shorter-term than traditional psychotherapy. Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg of the Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee are the originators of this form of therapy.

The SFBT therapist helps the client identify elements of the desired solution, which are usually already present in the clients life. The client learns to build on these elements, which form the basis for ongoing change. Rather than searching for the causes of the problem, the focus is on defining the changes and making them a reality. The two key therapeutic issues are: (1) how the client wants his or her life to be different, and (2) what it will take to make it happen. Creating a detailed picture of what it will be like when life is better creates a feeling of hope, and this makes the solution seem possible. The therapist helps the client focus on the future and how it will be better when things change. It is important to develop a set of specific, detailed goals. These goals drive the therapy process and keep it focused and efficient.

Why SFBT Is Usually Short-Term

SFBT therapists dont set out to artificially limit the number of sessions. A good brief therapist will not focus on limiting sessions or time, but rather on helping clients set goals and develop strategies to reach those goals. Focusing on the clients goals and the concrete steps needed to achieve them usually takes less time than traditional therapy, in which the client typically spends many sessions talking about the past and explores reasons and feelings. SFBT therapists aim to provide clients with the most effective treatment in the most efficient way possible so that clients can achieve their goals and get on with their lives. As a result of this focus, the counseling process often requires as few as six sessions.

Types of Problems That SFBT Addresses

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is an effective way of helping people solve many kinds of problems, including depression, substance abuse, eating disorders, relationship problems, and many other kinds of issues. Since it focuses on the process of change rather than on dissecting the problem, more serious issues do not necessarily require different treatment. The SFBT therapists job is to help clients transform troubling issues into specific goals and an action plan for achieving them. In The Miracle Method, authors Scott D. Miller and Insoo Kim Berg describe how to create solutions with these steps:

1.State your desire for something in your life to be different.

2.Envision boardthat a miracle happens and your life is different.

3.Make sure the miracle is important to you.

4.Keep the miracle small.

5.Define the change with language that is positive, specific, concrete, and behavioral.

6.State how you will start your journey rather than how you will end it.

7.Be clear about who, where, and when, but not why.

Signs That You Should Consider Seeing a Therapist

There are several ways to know when you would be doing yourself a favor by finding a licensed, professional therapist to work with.

1.Youve tried several things on your own, but you still have the problem.

2.You want to find a solution sooner rather than later.

3.You have thoughts of harming yourself or others.

4.You have symptoms of depression, anxiety, or another disorder that significantly interfere with your daily functioning and the quality of your life. For example, you have lost time from work, your relationships have been harmed, or your health is suffering. These are signs that you need the help of a trained, licensed professional.
